i wrote this album four years ago, and in those four years i have become a completely different person from the guy that made this record, i've learned a lot. when i started working on this album, i was reflecting on that same point, and i felt a great sense of security in the fact that the only constant i had throughout it all was gizmo, my best friend. and then i lost him, and losing him in the middle of this albums production was very hard, it created a huge void in the stu, even though he had a tendency to ruin takes with this hacking and his wheezing, that first day back in the stu without him was the hardest day in all of my years of recording. he was always my anchor, everyday i came home, no matter what time it was, he was sitting at the door waiting for me. he would run up on me as soon as i came through after school. for sixteen years i had the most loving & supportive friend anyone could ever ask for, and everyday i feel so thankful for getting to share that time with him. love you giz.
